CallTower Inc, a provider of managed enterprise-class unified communications solutions, announced on Tuesday (5 May) the launch of an on-demand Microsoft-based unified communications solution.The company said that the new offering, based on the latest version of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 R2, provides a cost effective option for growing businesses seeking enterprise-class unified communications capabilities without the expense of owning or managing it.

CallTower’s hosted OCS product does not require any other telephone system or softswitch to be involved. Microsoft Office Communicator compatible phones can be used as the primary telephony platform, which is expected to enable customers to take advantage of the power of mobility built into OCS.

The company’s on-demand solution provides a single interface and bill for telephony services, web and audio conferencing, unified messaging, voice to text, text to voice, Internet, presence and screen pops.

No financial details were disclosed.
